Designed for the more discerning traveller, the Shangri-La is set in 15 acres of luxurious tropical gardens, housing more than 130,000 individual flowers, plants and trees, while ponds filled by cascading waterfalls are home to 200 vividly coloured Japanese Koi. A swimming pool, spa, jacuzzi, steam room and tennis courts are just some of a wide range of facilities on offer. Dining at the Shangri-La hotel is a dream – from French-inspired cuisine at the award-winning BLU, to Japanese cuisine at Nadaman, modern International at The Line to the best of Cantonese fare at Shang Palace. Accommodation is elegant, with comfortable rooms furnished to a high standard. Horizon Club deluxe rooms are situated in the Tower Wing and are furnished in soothing earth shades with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city or the pool. A sumptuous buffet breakfast is served daily in the exclusive BLU restaurant and complimentary evening cocktails and canapés are served in the Horizon Club Lounge. You have two days to explore this vibrant and cosmopolitan island city.
Day 5 to Day 9 Singapore/Cairns
Fly overnight with Qantas to Cairns. Upon arrival, transfer to the Angsana Resort and Spa, situated right on the beachfront of Palm Cove – the ultimate retreat for those seeking relaxed luxury and personal service. The silky sands of Palm Cove are nestled snugly between the longest coral reef on earth and the world’s oldest rainforest. Beachfront suites are both contemporary and opulent, draped with rich Thai silks and with floorto- ceiling glass doors opening onto a private terrace. Each is airconditioned, with television, fully equipped kitchenette, Italian coffee machine and minibar. Whether you want to see the underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef, explore the tropical rainforest vegetation and breathtaking mountain scenery of the Daintree-Cape Tribulation Rainforest or simply relax on the pale sand beach or by one of the three pools, a range of activities are available to fill your four night stay.
Day 9 to Day 13 Cairns/Sydney
Depart from Cairns to Sydney with Qantas and transfer to the elegant Observatory Hotel, in the historic Rocks district, for a four night stay. The Observatory is just a few minutes stroll from the famous Harbour Bridge, the vibrant restaurants of King Street Wharf and the magnificent Opera House. Enjoy afternoon tea in the Globe Bar and Bistro or sample the exceptional Franco-Japanese fusion cuisine at the award-winning Galileo Restaurant, swim in the spectacular subterranean swimming pool or rejuvenate your mind and body in the Day Spa. Outside of the hotel, world-renowned chefs, cuisine and wine, pulsating nightlife, stylish bars and chic shops help to create the truly distinctive experience that makes Sydney unlike any other city on earth. Spacious, elegant and beautifully appointed, rooms at the Observatory Hotel are designed to meet the needs of the most discerning guest. Deluxe rooms are traditional in style, with polished mahogany armoires and buffets concealing television, CD/DVD player, tea and coffee making facilities, minibar and a luxurious marble bathroom with oversized bath.
Day 13 to Day 15 Sydney/Blue Mountains
A luxury four-wheel drive vehicle whisks you away to Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort and Spa in the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains for a two night stay. Along the way, your personal guide will highlight the outstanding vistas and native animals that the Blue Mountains have to offer. Deluxe rooms are decorated in Victorian Heritage style with a contemporary flavour.
Day 15 to Day 18 Blue Mountains/Auckland
Fly from Sydney to Auckland with Qantas. On arrival, transfer to the stylish Hilton Auckland for three nights. Set in a prime position at the end of Princes Wharf, this luxury boutique hotel has possibly the best location in the city. The critically acclaimed ‘White’ restaurant offers fantastic views across the harbour, as does the hotel’s Bellini bar, where you can sip cocktails over a harbour sunset. Experience a unique view of the city from the underwater viewing window in the outdoor heated pool and pamper yourself in the beautiful surrounds of the neighbouring Servilles Spa. Deluxe waterview rooms are spacious and contemporary, with airconditioning, television, tea and coffee making facilities, minibar and chic marble bathroom. Auckland boasts three harbours, two mountain ranges, 48 volcanic cones and over 50 islands, each with its own distinct character. One of the best ways to appreciate the ‘City of Sails’ is from the water. Take a 35-minute ferry across the Hauraki Gulf to Waiheke Island, for picturesque bays and beaches and fine wines from the island’s renowned wineries. The gulf is also home to pods of dolphins and whales, which can be viewed from regular boat trips.

Each day the chef prepares contemporary food with an emphasis on the succulent seafood caught nearby. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere – dress is casual. Slip below the surface of Yasawa’s pristine waters and you’ll find a world as seductive as the island above. The island’s PADI diving centre will be happy to help you explore. Bure Suites are traditionally built timber bungalows with thatched roofs and plantation shutters, furnished in a contemporary Fijian style. Each is airconditioned, with ceiling fan, discreet open-air shower, its own thatched beach hut and a hammock strung between the palms. Immerse yourself in splendid isolation for a glorious four nights.
